Documentation

The working group "Documentation" was founded at the Annual Assembly of the German Museums Association in 1994 in Hildesheim. Experts had long complained that there was no suitable forum in Germany for the exchange of information on questions of conventional and computer-assisted museum documentation.

The working group "Documentation" works within the frame of the statutes of the Association. It does provide an activity report at every annual assembly and organises at least 2 meetings every year one within the annual assembly in spring and one self-contained meeting every autumn, with lectures and presentations. The SIG also has 6 Working Groups each covering specific issues.
