Tim S. Müller was born in Erlabrunn in the Ore Mountains in 1979. He studied Modern and Contemporary History, Economic and Social History and Art History at the Technical University of Dresden and the University of Vienna. From 2006 to 2015, he was an academic assistant at the history department of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus, where he received his doctorate in 2011. In 2015, he moved to Hanover to take over the management of the Museum für Energiegeschichte(n). Since October 2020, he has headed the Viadrina Municipal Museum in the German-Polish twin city of Frankfurt (Oder) – Słubice. His areas of interest are the economic and social history of the 18th and 19th centuries as well as cross-border cultural landscape history. In the museum business, he is particularly committed to low-threshold mediation formats and strong cultural marketing. Tim S. Müller is married and has two daughters.
