Alina Kokoschka

Is a curator, writer, and researcher. She currently works for the museum and columbarium „Die Eiche“ (Lübeck), focusing on the relation of art and grief, objects and loss. She holds a PhD in Islamic Studies and investigates contemporary Islam at the intersection of things, images, and script  Beyond her philosophically informed approach, Kokoschka has a keen interest in documentation. Hence, she founded the contemporary archive and  virtual showroom Hawass. Contemporary Islamic Aesthetics. Curating, research and writing join hands in her latest project that she further develops in the framework of the German Polish Museum Dialogue: A spatial realization of her literary and visual essay „Im Rückstand“ (Backlog), that explores German-Polish relations through three generations.
